Planning Manager

SCOPE OF POSITION:
This individual will ensure that ULT productions have the right product at the right time for assigned product line(s) to support customer demand and manage inventory levels to support inventory turn and budget targets. The Product availability planning supervisor will be responsible for producing and managing a monthly forecast for product lines of responsibility. This position will also monitor daily performance reports; prepare monthly metrics and hold regular project/objective reviews; and perform key company productivity metric action items.


SPECIFIC DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develop and execute inventory policies and inventory management strategies to drive improved inventory turns, maximized order fill rates, and increased gross margins
• Interacting with Planning and Product Teams to capture key account and market needs
• Producing a monthly product line forecast, by month by season by year to meet demand, availability and inventory objectives using market intelligence and data analysis
• Communicating with Supply Chain on production/capacity needs and issues
• Coordinate sales forecast and trends
• Lead planning process: production rates, raw materials, backlog position and FG availability
• Manage DCN process: implementation, performance metrics and review process
• Work with Sales & Customer Service on a weekly basis to focus on key and targeted customers for improved service/delivery performance
• Manage planned production and materials balance between production facilities
• Utilize MRP/ERP system to calculate safety stock, lead times, identify inventory overages and calculate buy quantity and timing


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years experience required.
• Fluency with Microsoft Excel required
• Strong analytical skills and proactive attitude required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of database software preferred
• Expert in formal forecasting methodologies
• Understand the concept of constraint management in logistics/supply chain
